Early Claymore
A great sword favored by Scottish mercenaries and warriors!
Most likely used between the 14th - 17th centuries it is thought that the Claymore's name originated from the Gaelic word for great sword, claidheamh-mòr. They were historically wielded by Highland mercenaries and warriors during Scotland's turbulent medieval years, and became a symbol of courage, loyalty, and clan pride.
Our Early Claymore features the traditional double handed grip, a ricasso, and massive blade requiring the dexterity of a skillful practitioner.
